After fostering for over a decade, I have an intimate understanding of the difficulties children and adolescents go through, and how hard it can be to communicate these complex emotions to other people. Often, I saw young people’s views being dismissed, or neglected entirely, so I decided to pursue this area as a counsellor, starting off by offering counselling at my local mainstream college and at a Special Educational Needs School. I am experienced in working with young people who have complex needs, such as Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), and Autism.
I feel extremely grateful to have learned as much as I have about the issues that affect the lives of families on a daily basis – both from young people and their parents/caregivers – and continue to learn as much as I can through CPD (Continuing Professional Development).
I also work with Adults, providing you with a space where you will feel welcomed and listened to. I allow you the time to reflect on the experiences and issues which may be troubling you. It is important to have a place where you can feel held, where no issue feels too much and where you can express your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
I am a fully insured and a Registered Member (390725) of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
No matter what issue you might be going through, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer personalised, strictly confidential counselling to young people and adults in Swindon, Wiltshire and online, giving people of all ages and backgrounds a chance to feel seen, heard, and understood as they explore their issues.
Please get in touch to arrange a free, no obligation telephone call. We can then meet and greet to gain an understanding of each other within the therapeutic relationship. This also allows you to make an informed choice whether I am the therapist for you.
